Astrology offers us a guide to earthly happenings from a planetary perspective. When Mars (planet of aggression and sex) opposes Uranus (planet of awakening), impulsive, erratic things are bound to happen. But don't let your progress (or your breakthrough) be impeded.
Try these five tips for quelling the crazies and combating conflict on a day when it's bound to be right by your side (with a sharp stick to poke you)!
1. Say no to the universeWhile we can't necessarily control what goes on around us, we can make it harder for trouble to find us. If there's something you want to achieve with Mars and Uranus in opposition, make sure to clear the path for achieving it. In other words, if there's a project you've been dying to get done, but someone calls and asks if you want to meet them for lunch, no matter how badly you'd like to hop out of the house for a refresher, say no. You can't cross promote on a day like this one, and by staying single minded, with a clear goal and the means to achieve it, you lessen the chances some aggressive obstruction is going to find itself smack dab in your way!
2. Be calm on the insideWhen you start the day centered, it's a lot harder to find yourself frazzled. When you wake up Sunday morning, set aside a few minutes (ten or fifteen will do) and breathe deeply. Focus on your intention for the day. If completion is on the books, focus on getting things done. Ask for the peace of mind to stay on task and concentrate on remaining impartial, which leads us to the next point.
3. Try not to take things personallyWhen an aggressor comes at you trying to agitate you, no matter what his or her reason is, it's very hard not to take things personally. Whether you're at work or at home or anywhere else, our tendency is to react when we're attacked. And it's understandable. However, if you can muster the strength to separate yourself from whatever it is someone is picking a fight or pressing you about, you will be able to stay above the fray. You'll wake tomorrow with the satisfaction that you avoided conflict - but not by running, by recognizing it wasn't about you.
4. Agree to discuss things - tomorrow! If the argument or aggression in question is something that really does need addressing, then you're going to have to address it. However, you needn't make the mistake of thinking you need to deal with things immediately. In most cases, if you set aside the matter at hand for just 24 hours - long enough to have some time to think and for tempers on either side to cool, you'll be much more likely to come to a constructive conclusion… thus keeping you right on track for that breakthrough Uranus has been promising.
5. Stay on the safe sideSunday's influence may also encourage you to try dangerous things (like sky diving, racing, mountain climbing, etc.) in the name of spiritual transcendence (or just to prove a point)! Such tasks are better saved for another day when a more favorable aspect is at hand and you have clearer (more honorable) motivations. Sunday is a great day for self-exploration, time spent (calmly) in nature and going to movies or plays. Anything that doesn't run the risk of putting up a permanent block should do you just fine. This same principle goes for dealing with loved ones. Before addressing a behavior that's been driving you crazy, really consider how vital it is that you make a fuss. Today might just not be the day to deal with it.
