How compatible are we?
Dear WC,
I'm in love with a Cancer. His is June 27. I'm a Scorpio and we get along very well but sometimes I feel that he holds back on me. I sometimes tell him that I feel he's being distant and he says no. But I can tell that he is. He says that he loves me and I do believe him, but I feel like he doesn't show it enough and I'm a very loving person and want affection. I show him so much affection and love and sometimes I feel I should back away from that because I don't want to get hurt-- but I can't! I feel like I'm the one doing all the talking and sharing my feelings while he listens but doesn't do the same for me. Am I wasting my time or should I keep talking to him and hoping that he will open up more?

Well, having lived with a Cancer for many years myself, I know exactly what you're going through my little Scorpio friend! Cancers can tend to be quite moody, and often when something is bothering them, they tend to brood and clam up. When they're feeling weak or threatened, they often tend to put up their protective shell, just like the crab that so aptly represents their sign. Looking more deeply into his birth chart, it appears that your Cancer man suffers from a great deal of uncertainty, insecurity and self-doubt. Sometimes he's not even certain how he feels and this, along with other things, can hinder his ability to express himself in the ways you might like. I know you're a persistent and determined little Scorpio, but you can't drag things out of him--no matter how hard you might try. In fact, this may cause him to clam up even more!
