It feels like we are in need of hope, trust, and miracles to get us through what the Universe has thrown at us over the past several weeks. And when times get difficult it can sometimes feel as if we are running short of the things that we need most to see us through.
Sometimes though, the light at the end of the tunnel truly is a light harkening us to hold firm in our journey and to follow it to its conclusion, because sooner or later we will break out into the light. This week’s daily focus will help us to see that we need to trust in ourselves and the Universe, and that both hope and miracles can and do happen.
April 18

Even when things seem to be at their darkest, harshest, and lowest point it is important to remember that nothing lasts forever, that our lives and world are constantly changing. Remembering that this too shall pass is what we need sometimes, in order to hold on just a bit longer. Today’s word is Transience.

Sometimes the challenges that we face are beyond difficult and feel as if they will push us past the point of no return. But having hope in ourselves, in our ability to overcome, and ultimately come through on the other side is a human trait that can help us navigate these difficult cycles. “Tomorrow” may feel like it takes more than 24 hours, but knowing that it will finally come should bring us some peace and fill us with optimism. Today’s word is Believe.

Humankind in general tends to be very impatient. We want what we want when we want it and that includes answers when nothing seems to be going the way we desire. Trust is not just something meant for our interactions with people, it also means trusting that, ultimately as long as we are putting one foot in front of the other, we are following the path that we are meant to take and everything will happen the way it is supposed to. Knowing that miracles can happen at any time is like having packages come in the mail. They can brighten our days with anticipation. When they arrive we don’t know how they will affect us until we open the box and fully investigate what is hiding amongst all the packaging, and even once we have it in our hands we sometimes don’t know the true impact or importance until later. It is this uncanny foresight that can lead us to the acceptance that there is more to the world than what we can readily see. How else can we explain the new friend in our life who becomes our rock in times of trouble? Or so many other serendipities that we look back on and realize that they were miracles before we even needed them? Today’s word is Revelation.

Stars are always shining, it’s just that until the sun starts to set, they are eclipsed by the sun’s preeminence and we can’t see their wonder. The ability to keep hope alive is just like those shining, but invisible stars; we don’t realize how much light we carry inside us until things are bleak, and then we’re surprised by the power we’ve been carrying.
