Understanding Your Daily Focus
The astrological year is ending, as always, with Pisces
season. The story of Pisces is about Aphrodite and her son Eros escaping a
massive typhoon by transforming into fish and tying themselves together. The
symbol for Pisces is therefore always two fish, always connected. There are
themes of escaping great strife and tragedy, of cleverness and the capabilities
of nature, creature, and disaster.
This solar transit is, among other things, a mythological
ending. We have watched the procession of the equinoxes and the constellations
above us change shape. We have learned hard lessons about ourselves and the
world, and now we are looking back at all our wisdom, before starting the cycle
again and facing completely new challenges. We have an opportunity here to
reflect, to look back at everything that we have learned, to allow ourselves to
indulge in the whimsical and the frivolous, knowing that this is just a single
season. In this week’s Daily Focus, I want to honor Pisces and look at what
this transit means for all of us in 2022.

“I don’t need the facts. I’m a Pisces.” –Phil
Volatile.
Pisces are feelers. Deep feelers. And in my opinion, it’s
not so much that they don’t need the facts as it is that they know feelings can
also be facts and deserve to be addressed. Pisces are empaths, they are
non-judgmental, they’re the mom-friend of the group. They don’t need all the
information before they decide to support you. If you’re looking for support, they
will offer it.

“A Pisces knows
no boundaries and dances with their limitlessness.” –Patricia
Lantz
This is the sign of transcendence. Pisces is here to usher
us out of the known, with the culmination of all our knowledge. It is all at
once reflecting on everything, and open to anything. Pisces is not scared of
the unknown, it is thankful that unknowns still exist.

“Pisces are the
great chameleons of the zodiac. They often survive through the art of
camouflage.” –Genevieve A. Vierling
Part of being so empathetic also manifests as an ability to
relate to and commiserate with, just about anyone. All of us will be feeling
this social ease as we move through Pisces season. Pisces is a Water sign, and
as under all Water signs, we are seeking connection right now and might find it
easier to nurture relationships.

“Because they are so sensitive, Pisces are like a
sponge — they soak up everything around them. They are a product of their
environment.” –Maria Shaw
The downside to being so empathic is that sometimes these
feelings can weigh you down. That’s why it’s also important to have the tools
to set boundaries, say no, and surround yourself with people who can help
elevate you. Be wary of taking on others’ emotions during this time.

“I am a Pisces, a fish out of water, searching for a
way back home.” –James Kidd
Pisces always feel a little different. They’re blessed and
cursed with more compassion, cosmic knowledge, and mythological baggage than
any of the other signs. While we’re under this sign, you may feel more
misunderstood than usual. Try to express yourself in other ways, even if they
seem unnatural at first. Maybe it’s time to try art, or painting, or talking
things out.

“Believe in love. Believe in magic. Hell, believe in
Santa Clause. Believe in others. Believe in yourself. Believe in your dreams.
If you don’t, who will?” –Jon Bon Jovi
One thing I love about Pisces is how whimsical and strange
they are. There is something to be said about taking all of the wisdom of the
wheel of the year and coming out in a place that really allows you to believe
in magic and wonder. When you’re mature enough to consider your own needs, you
come to realize one of them is for wonder and play.

“Pisces is an era of storms and of wholesale
disintegration.” –Dane Rudhyar
Pisces is an ending. It is a force to be reckoned with, but
as the wheel of the year turns, we are forced to start over, rebuild from the rubble,
and make something from scratch. Allow this season to be filled with
connection, wonder, and goodbyes. This is another chance to let things go, set
resolutions, and decide what sort of a world you want to rebuild when things
fall apart.
