In a surreal turn of events, a video clip has surfaced of Republican Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell admitting that she “dabbled in witchcraft” but “never joined a coven.” The clip, from a 1997 episode of Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect, features O’Donnell letting slip (probably unwisely) that:
“I dabbled into witchcraft – I never joined a coven. But I did, I did… I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I’m not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do…
“One of my first dates with a witch was on a Satanic altar, and I didn’t know it. I mean, there’s little blood there and stuff like that… We went to a movie and then had a midnight picnic on a Satanic altar.”

One wonders that is this is what O’Donnell admits in public, what the real story of her involvement actually was – and how many other “psychically inclined” people are in politics. Wiccans used to , I think we still do, have their own Anti-Defamation League in Washington,D.C…….
I hope some of the larger Wiccan orgs out there take it to Chris O’Donnell for her ignorant remarks…. because enough is enough!
Real Wiccans practice a very ancient, peaceful, loving religion and this kind of stereo-typing of us is hurtful and insulting.
Wiccans are very open to other religions and we expect the same in return from others…this persecution, which has gone on for centuries now, verbally AND physically, continues because of people like Chris O’Donnell and her ignorant remarks.
Chris O’Donnell also needs to remember that there are many Wiccans in Delaware who pay taxs AND vote.
Ok….LOL……my rant is over.

The number of Wiccans in the USA alone has more than doubled between 2001 to 2008…..the military now recognizes the Wiccan faith as well, here in the UDSA and in other countries as well.
I hope some of the larger Wiccan orgs, such as The Witches Voice……petition that woman, Chris O’Donnell for a public apology.

As a Hereditary Wiccan, ( I can trace my Wiccan heritage back over 10 generations) …..people like her give REAL Wicca a bad name.
Real Wiccans will tell you that there is NO Satan in the craft. Real Wiccans do NOT worship the devil……
The real Wiccan’s path is much like that of Native American Indians…….our laws, The Wiccan Reed, is based soley upon The Law of Karma.
Real Wiccans do not jump out of the woodwork, especially near Halloween, to declare that they are a witch…..
I don’t know what kind of ” self proclaimed cult ” this woman, Chris O’Donnell ran around with, but they were NOT real Wiccans.
Chris O’Donnell is just another thrill seeker…giving a beautiful, ancient religion a bad rap in an effort to be senational in the news.
We are a very eco-green spiritual path, we are healers, and love the Earth, and animals especially…..we believe in the Law of ThreeFold, based upon the universal Laws of Karma…..whatsoever you do to others, good or bad, will come back upon you threefold.
I am FURIOUS with this woman !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In short, I think Chris O’Donnell fell off the proverbial alter, and bumped her little head on the ground too hard!
