Are you happy? Do you embrace life each morning in anticipation of how the day will unfold, or do you find yourself going through a doom-and-gloom checklist of what you will have to endure?
Life is full of joy and sorrow – a collection of personal experiences and choices that are subtly shaping each tomorrow. If you don’t like your life, chances are good you’re heading for trouble. The question is, what are you prepared to do?
My life sucks!
Most of us have felt this way at one time or another. I’ll even go as far as to say that sometimes it’s even true. Your lover is a jerk, your boss is an idiot – or maybe you no longer have a job. Your house is in foreclosure, your kids are out of control, and your car stranded you on the highway. Heck, this may have all come down in the same month, week, or day! Yeah – these are the curveballs we all get thrown, and sometimes it’s far worse. Some days it’s enough to push you over the edge, and feeling sorry for yourself seems like the natural thing to do. Go ahead. Have that hissy fit, or throw that tantrum if you need to. Get it all out of your system as quickly as possible, because you have work to do!
Deal with it
It really is in these darkest of moments, when nothing goes right and it all seems so hopeless, when you find the one thing that you have to pull you up and out of the abyss has been there all along… it’s you. Whatever challenges you face, whatever your problems are, accept the fact that you just need to deal with it! Life isn’t always fair, but it is interactive. If there is a situation, or circumstance, that is negatively affecting you – understand that you have a choice. You can choose to accept things as they are, and go about your business in comfortable misery – or you can think about how things got to this point, your role in that path, and find a way to improve it.
Life is hard
So, things haven’t exactly gone your way or as you had planned… so sorry. Much of the time, I’m right there with ya! However, that is part of the beauty and irony of life. There are times when things have to be entirely screwed up, or we will do nothing to change ourselves or our circumstances. When we feel powerless, we become powerless – because we live in fear of what may change. Ironically, it is in these woe-is-me times, that we want change the most. Sometimes, we just don’t want the responsibility for creating that change.
It’s your life – own it!
Most people know what makes them unhappy, and have theories about what will bring them inner peace and joy. Unfortunately, too many of us are afraid to face life head-on, and take responsibility for our present – and our future. Instead, we put forth excuses or justifications, or we play the blame game. While that may help us keep ourselves down and make things seem acceptable, it changes nothing.
It is easy to find fault in a lover, but it is harder to accept that we chose to be with them, and sometimes choose to stay. It is common to hate the job/boss/company, but so many of us are so afraid of rejection that we fail to try and create a better atmosphere, or to find employment elsewhere! I have heard many people blame their psychics because they haven’t found love/money/happiness… and many of these people are the same ones who have done nothing different to invite a change of circumstance in their lives!
The bottom line is, if you don’t like where your life is at or where it’s heading, you can wallow in self-pity, or you can take control and begin again.
Checklist to Take Control
1) Diagnose the problems or issues honestly. Are you angelically blameless, or did/are you contributing to the problem?
2) Accept the situation. Most problems or issues didn’t happen overnight, and they can’t always be fixed immediately.
3) Weigh your options. Look at things from every angle, and consider every possible outcome. Even though there may not be a “miracle cure,” does any outcome offer something better than what you have now?
4) Get a reading. Knowledge is power, and a psychic reading can help you avoid pitfalls, understand your role, improve your chances of success, and confirm or deny whether you are on the right track.
5) Set goals, make a plan of action, and follow through with conviction. Just as you most likely are your own worst enemy, you probably are your own greatest asset or ally. The one thing you can always count on, and never escape, is yourself.
All about choices
No one does everything right all the time. Sometimes, the choices and options available to us aren’t the greatest – but at least we have a choice. Choosing to do nothing is still a choice, and it has its own consequences. When you own your own life, it doesn’t mean everything is going to be miraculous and easy, but it sure does help to guide and illuminate where you’re going, and it offers some satisfaction when you look back to where you’ve been.
