Aries Femme Fatales

Gutsy, sexy and independent, the Mars-ruled Aries woman has a touch of macho in her personality. Her femininity is fueled by courage and a passionate joie de vivre. She also values youthfulness and seldom grows old gracefully, preferring to fight the effects of aging until her dying breath. After all, Aries is the sign of new beginnings. The Sun transiting into Aries heralds the first day of spring.

The heroine in film is usually an Aries-type character, fearless and brainy. She will respond to a battle cry along side her masculine compatriots without a single thought. Likewise, lady rockers have a daring sexuality that has a Mars-like quality. Actors Keira Knightley and Kristen Stewart plus rocker Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) are excellent examples of the Aries women.

So let’s take a look at their charts to see what makes them so captivating.

Keira Knightley (March 26, 1985)
In a perfect feat of casting, this gorgeous Aries actor plays the heroine in the Pirates of the Caribbean films. Her character is fearless but intensely feminine, a combination that ignites a sizzling chemistry with pirate Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and suitor Will Turner (Orlando Bloom). In another Aries role, Knightley plays Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice. Set in 19th century England, Bennet is a highly independent young woman who balks at the traditional notion that women have no brains to speak of – or they shouldn’t let on if they do. Indeed, if Knightley had been alive then, she would have certainly rebelled against the ban on feminine brainpower. That’s because with Sun, Mercury and Venus in Aries, Knightley is headstrong and brainy. However, Moon and Mars in Taurus ground her somewhat and give her a powerful sensuality (although her Moon may be in Gemini, depending on her time of birth). As for her artistry, a Sun-Neptune affliction gives her the gift of imagination. It also heightens her illusiveness with men. She is reportedly involved with Rupert Friend, her co-star in Pride and Prejudice, but has no plans to marry.

Kristen Stewart (April 9, 1990)
Playing a woman in love with a vampire in Twilight is the perfect role for a courageous Aries like Stewart. After all, it takes some chutzpah to befriend a being who craves your blood. The film, based on Stephanie Meyer’s best-selling novel, launched the young actor into stardom.

Like Knightley, Stewart has a Sun-Neptune affliction, which means she can be naÔve when it comes to men. It also adds to her artistic talent. What’s more, Venus in fantasy-prone Pisces is the ultimate placement for an actor, whose livelihood is based on illusion. But again, she’ll need to be picky in her choice of partners (no vampires allowed!). Speaking of weird men, with Mars in Aquarius, Stewart is attracted to, shall we say, unconventional types of guys – much like her character Bella, strangely enough. Plus, with Moon in Libra, Stewart is a romantic at heart. Relationships, fairness and harmony are crucial to her emotional wellbeing. But like Knightley, she has some practicality in her nature. Mercury in Taurus says she has a pragmatic way of thinking, which will counteract some of the dreamier influences. One interesting note: Stewart is slated to play rocker Joan Jett in an upcoming film. How very Aries.

Fergie (March 27, 1975)
Stacy Ann Ferguson, better known as Fergie, is a singer and songwriter with the hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas. This Aries is a wildcat at heart. Actually, her chart is an intense version of Stewart’s. Like Stewart, she has Sun in Aries, Moon in Libra and Mars in Aquarius. She’s impetuous, artsy, romantic and unconventional. But Pluto afflicting her Sun and Moon kick willfulness into high gear. She binged on drugs and sex when she was in her teens. But perhaps her artistic talent – she’s also a TV personality, fashion designer and model – will channel some of that chaotic energy. Also, Venus in Taurus brings her back down to earth, especially in love. In January 2009, she married actor Josh Duhamel in a surprisingly traditional ceremony (she was raised Catholic) held in Malibu. Intriguingly, Duhamel admitted in an interview to having dreamed of Fergie before he actually met her on the set of his television series, Las Vegas. And in a very Aries fashion, Fergie approached him to ask if the dream was any good. Who could resist a man who says you’re his dream girl – literally? Perhaps their love was written in the stars.

Touching the fire of an Aries woman can warm or scorch, depending on her mood – and if you respect her intelligence. Ever ageless, at least at heart, she’s a mover and shaker who won’t be tamed.
