All Hallows Eve

Ever wonder when happy haunts first began to materialize? Halloween
actually originated in an ancient Irish festival called Samhain, and
the ancient Celts believed that because the veil between our world and
the spiritual realm is thin on this day, ghosts and spirits actually
walk among us. In the 800s, when the Catholic Church tried to eradicate
pagan celebrations, it replaced Samhain with All Saints’ Day. Today,
All Hallows Eve — a derivation from Old English — is celebrated on
the eve of All Saints Day, and we have the Ancient Celts to thank for
our rich tradition of ghosts and ghouls. Trick or treat!
