It’s nice to be wanted by your loved ones on the other side, but you obviously have things to do yet while still here on earth. The dead often appear to us in dreams, usually to let us know they’re doing well. These aren’t just dreams that spring from the unconscious, but very real visitations. Even pets can appear in dreams to greet us. The tunnel of light is a common vision with people who are crossing over to the other side, or with those who are tempted to cross over, but need to stay here to fulfill their destiny.
Often, dead loved ones or religious figures appear in the tunnel to guide us over. Mainly, though, I think your dream is a reminder to commit to life and walk a path that’s aligned with your soul’s purpose. If you don’t know what that is yet, explore your talents until you find an avenue that feels right — and pursue it. As Joseph Campbell remarked in The Power of Myth, “I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”
