Last night’s 8.9 earthquake off of the northeastern coast of Japan, followed by a major tsunami and aftershocks which have claimed the lives of over 1,000 people, as well as causing massive structural damage to a nuclear power plant and sending tsunami shockwaves towards several other countries, is a shocking tragedy. Many have wondered if this is another sign of the massive earth changes predicted to occur on December 22, 2012. Is there a deeper meaning to the Japan earthquake? Whether it relates to 2012 or not, we certainly come to some surprising conclusions calculating the astrology of the disaster. The sun is in Pisces, the fishes, a mutable water sign. This is fairly self-explanatory—mutable water meaning, well, tsunami. The event’s moon rests in Gemini, provoking a restless, erratic foundation to the situation. Meaning, well, earthquake.
We also have a triple-threat of planets in the sign of Aries, the Ram. This should also be fairly self-explanatory; Aries, the Ram, is a sign of force, fire and even destruction, of pushing forcefully through boundaries. Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus all dwell in Aries, suggesting spontaneous force (Mercury) and force destroying material stability (Jupiter). Uranus in Aries is a generational planet, and suggests a cultural push into a new order. Mars occurs in placement in Pisces alongside with the Sun. Mars being the planet of war, force and destruction, we here find it manifesting through Pisces, the fishes, mutable water—again self-explanatory, as it is the perfect description of destruction by tsunami. Venus is in Aquarius, also called the “Water Bearer.” This is a slightly counter-intuitive placement as we see love (Venus) expressing through Aquarius. One possible interpretation—”love” can here be interpreted as the uniting of one force with another, instead of the sentimental meaning. In that case, we very clearly have a uniting with the “Water Bearer”—the ocean. If Mars in Pisces is the force of the tsunami, Venus in Aquarius might be seen to be the ocean itself, and all that was united with it during the earthquake. It could also simply mean, in a broader sense, the love that manifests as the new that inevitably comes after the destruction of the old. To round out the basic planets, Saturn occurs in Libra, directly suggesting a return to balance through the process of decay; this works hand-in-hand with the current placement of Uranus in Aries, which is all about the destruction of old structures. To go out on a final limb, Neptune in Aquarius is another combination rife with potent mythological connotations—Neptune, or Poseidon, god of the sea, in Aquarius, the water bearer; however, it’s probably inappropriate to directly attribute this to the situation as it is another generational planet, covering the time period from 1998-2012. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan as they recover from their ordeal.

As I’m sure it happens to a lot of readers, this touches me in a personal level as I have family and people I care about it affected areas.
I’ve seen a young man wash an old woman’s feet, read homeless people share their cardboard boxes with victims when they are usually ignored by society, teenagers helping, and celebrities using their social networks to instruct people as to how to watch over themselves and loved ones as well as to where to help, find help, and contribute. And the Government sprung into action right away, and keeps a straight mind in spite the lack of sleep. I’m hoping these all work out.
Would it be too much trouble if you wrote follow ups on this article?
This is truly a very sad disaster, my heart and prayers are with them!
