What Clues Can Determine if You Are Sad or Depressed

All of us get depressed at one time or another, yet if you truly want to know why you’re feeling so blue these days, it might be time to look within. Our emotions are completely unpredictable, and we don’t always have control over them when specific events happen within our lives.

“If your friend was down or sad or not feeling worthy, you would have no problem offering suggestions to brighten their day. A quick fix to raising your self-esteem is to be your own best friend.” – Psychic Deejay ext. 5435

If you’re sad and you recognize there is something different about your regular mood, let’s look at these possible reasons why you may be feeling down in the dumps. Are you feeling depressed and would like more personalized advice, contact a psychic today!

Your Lifestyle: Vice or No Vice

Do you have any vices? Self-destructive problems to address? If you’re suffering from any addiction, know that it could take a toll on your inner-self and spirituality. Alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, over the counter drugs and an addiction to food (obsessions, eating disorders, etc.) can lead to more anxiety, sadness and depression on top of what you’re already experiencing. If you can get help from others then you can truly see why you’re so sad inside. Addictions are just temporary escapes to block inner pain and loneliness. You may find that without addictions, you actually feel content and happy within the day.

Escape Isolation

Many people who are feeling down, sad or majorly depressed tend to hide like a wounded animal. Some reach out, while others suffer in silence. Isolation is one of the biggest problems we encounter today. By nature, we need human interaction, touch, care and kindness. Even if you would rather stay under the covers and hide from the world, try pushing yourself a bit even if it means calling your family or a good friend you trust. If you can, try and get outside once a day at first even if it means your patio or to the grocery store to be arond people. Isolation only makes the sadness deepen.

Uncontrollable Circumstances

Life presents us with unwelcome situations that we are not always prepared for. Divorce, loss of a loved one, a stressful home life, violence, domestic abuse, a relationship breakup and more are definitely reasons to feel sad. If you have experienced any of these circumstances, it is important to realize that this indeed might be adding to your daily depression. You can get support while you work your way through these situation and break free from the darkness once and for all.

Loss of Motivation

Sometimes we feel like we have no purpose in life. This negative thought might occur if you’re feeling stuck in your job, if you are bored with your daily routine or if you have no passion for anything. Why not find a new job, go back to school, try a new hobby or join a gym and see how you feel then. Many people feel newly motivated and energized when they start new projects, careers, start exercising or try anything that presents a new challenge. Escape the daily routine and mix it up a bit! Your blues most likely will fade in time.

Loneliness

Many people feel lonely at some time or another. This is natural. If you have been single for quite some time, it might be time to break into the dating world again. If being lonely is bringing you down, join social, business or exercise groups and make some new friends. While it might seem daunting and scary, give yourself a little nudge. Usually, when we are distracted or with others, we have little time to fall into dark feelings of sadness. Keep busy.

While these are only a few reasons why you may feel sad, there are numerous other reasons to look into. Talk to a health practitioner, take some time to sit with your feelings, allow yourself to cry if needed and just be. There is one positive aspect that sticks out with sadness versus clinical depression; give it time and it will pass.

I agree with Sonia we talk about the problem but not the solution and sometimes what we think is the solution, sometimes is not. I think feeling sad and blue is part of life sometimes is very hard and we need to not cope with it but manage it. I have been very sad and lonely at times but my relief is to think positive, pray to a higher power, go for a drive even though you have no money go look at the mall. Some of those things have helped me a lot.
I am going through a break-up and it has not been easy at all but one very important thing I think about is that I am important and I have to have confidence in myself so I can find the next person and find love again.

Believe in yourself and don’t let your guard down…Keep your head up!

WEll, ALL OF THIS applies to me right now! I have MANY vices, I recluse daily because I just don’t feel up to being around all the negativity, I have at least TWO uncontrollable circumstances, I have NO motivation, AND I ALWAYS FEEL LONEY, even when in a room full of close friends and family. Yeah, I can see why I’m sad ALL THE TIME. I just don’t know how to break out of it. See, I DO all the things suggested under each example, yet when I DO, something or someone comes along and rains on it- thus leading me back to my bedroom to “recuperate”. LIFE SUCKS, and I wish I could just fall asleep peacefully and wake up in Heavens waiting room!

not good enough. you are talking about problems or reasons to sadness but not the solution. one last line is not enough to solve these problems. Leaving it on time is the last resort indeed. when one cant do anything to get out of these sort of situations then its the only thing one can say to convince oneself that he/she wil overcome on one fine day.
