Would You Rather be Miserable than Alone?
Why is being alone worse than being miserable in a bad relationship? The reality is that if your relationships sucks, you’re going to make a lot of people miserable, including you, your partner, your family and your friends. If you’re sticking with them because you’re afraid to be alone, well guess what, you’re already alone. It’s time to shake things up!
There are irrefutable signs that a relationship sucks and as hard as you try to ignore them, they just won’t go away. The people around you recognize these irrefutable signs too. And they know that behind closed doors, things are a lot worse.
Do you recognize any of the signs in your relationship?
• There is emotional unavailability and utter disrespect between you
• Communication between you happens less often and only on a need-to-know basis
• You constantly feel like you’re walking on eggshells
• You can’t remember the last time the two of you went out together or even laughed about something together
• There is little or no real intimacy of any kind between you

Justifications
There are all kinds of justifications for staying in a bad relationship. People just don’t want to be alone. Other reasons range from selfish (their partner takes care of them financially) to sacrificial (because they have kids together), but trust me, you aren’t doing anyone any favors, least of all yourself. Whatever your fear (dying alone, having no money, suffering children or never finding love again), know that your future isn’t set in stone. Unless you’re a psychic, you don’t know what your future holds for you. Instead of thinking about how hard things will be when you leave them, you need to focus on the bigger picture, which includes a happier, more independent you.

It Takes Two
If you think your relationship sucks, there’s a good chance your partner feels the same way. Talk it out and try counseling. You could work your way back to happiness, but the longer you wait, the less hope there is for reconciliation. It takes two people to make a relationship work. If your partner won’t do the work, you need to move on. You deserve to have a relationship that is mutually respectful, loving and devoted. How can you possibly settle for anything less?
Take a Flying Leap
Many people believe that they can’t make it on their own. So even though they are emotionally exhausted, they feel it’s still better than being alone. If you’re miserable, being alone is better than being emotionally exhausted and feeling unloved. Because you don’t know what’s ahead, you’ll have to take a leap of faith—faith in yourself. It’s scary, but it’s worth it.

Then I fell in love by accident to a younger women and she was n still is in a bad relationship that stays with him be cause of money and the kids. Its been over three years and she makes all of us miserable at times. I’m about to pull out and go my own way.
I fell in love with a man in prison, and 8 years later hes still in prison and I feel so detached from him, I send him money to support himself put money on the phone every week I go see him, it just seems like its never enough for him, he says hes appreciative but is he really>?
Should I be concerned cos there are days I think hes using me…….??????

Thank you
I had all 5 signs and knew it was time to get out…I ended a miserable marriage after 7 years. The best thing I did for myself as being alone is better than feeling miserable…my life changed in ways I never thought it would some bad , some good. I am at peace with myself, I just wish I didn’t have to work so hard.
