Dear Psychic Kallista,

I have been in a relationship for about eight months now that used to be hot and heavy. Now he barely sees me. It feels like it’s a chore for him to be with me. Can you give me some advice on how to handle this? Have I done something wrong? I love him but I don’t think he really even likes me now. It’s really confusing, and it’s getting unbearable. When I met him I was going through a hard time, and he made me think that everything was great. With another failed relationship, I am not sure I will get to have love and happiness in this lifetime.

You will have love and happiness in this lifetime. You’ve done nothing wrong. This man finds you very attractive, and he especially loves the physical aspect of your union. But after being hot and heavy at first, reality has set in for him. You see, you are more than just a lover to have fun with; you’re a real, live girl. He’s having trouble dealing with the reality that a love relationship isn’t just hot and heavy fireworks. In fact, it takes a great deal of investment emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. His emotional maturity lags way behind yours, and he doesn’t feel he is capable of being the equal partner you require, and regretfully, it’s true.

You are far better off putting this immature man behind you. You deserve so much more. It feels like things are broken in your relationship now, but in about three weeks, he comes rushing back, wanting to get hot and heavy with you once again. Only you can decide whether to allow him to be so close to you again. If you do, please guard your heart, for the confusion and pain will set in rather rapidly and it looks like there will soon be another break—this time a permanent one.

Please take time to nurture yourself. Fall in love with you. Recognize that Spirit has protected you from those who would ultimately be toxic for you.
