What does a typical day off look like for you?
The goal of my days off is to completely detach from work, so I don’t really have a routine, but I certainly do have things I enjoy doing. In the mornings, I meditate and then give the rest of the time to my family and dogs. Around late morning, I spend time helping out at an animal sanctuary nearby that’s very close to my heart.
In the afternoon, I like to visit with some of my neighbors before sequestering myself in my garden till dinner time. It’s a very soothing place for me, and I’m very proud of how nurturing and creative it allows me to be in the kitchen. Once the evening rolls around, I like to put my occulus headset on and enjoy a virtual concert or two. I enjoy a lot of music, but my favorite genres are rock and alternative, so bands like AC/DC, The Cure, and The Smiths make frequent appearances at these nightly concerts for one.
Do you have a specific routine for your day off to treat your inner self or nurture your gift, or does it vary?
I’ve always been a free spirit, and while I take my work seriously, I know that I need to be relaxed and focused in order to do it properly. I sometimes find it hard to really relax, so I let Spirit guide me, and do whatever I feel is truly going to balance my spirit on my days off. Sometimes that could mean going to relax with my neighbors and their pets, sometimes it means spending hours in my garden planting new vegetables and herbs. Other times, it could mean unwinding while I look after my bees or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
How do you relax after being on the line all day?
I do my best not to work all day; it’s not good for the energies of either the callers or the readers. So, I always take time between calls to recharge. Whether it’s a call that lasted less than 10 minutes or a longer one that went up to an hour, the energy required is the same, and each caller deserves my full abilities.
After a shift I will disconnect by meditation and prayer, just to reflect on what is precious and special in my life and to see the beauty around me. It’s sort of like a form of Zen Buddhism. I’ll sometimes also recharge with a walk, a good nap, or even just by listening to music. Each one has their own restorative properties that help me re-center myself.
What are the fun things that you like to do in your free time?
I love walking my dogs at the beach, and spending time helping at the animal sanctuary near my home. I listen to music any chance I get, and I also love watching old movies when there’s time. When the culinary bug bites me (which is often) I will grab whatever fruit is ripe from my orchard and make some new jams and chutneys that I can share with my family and neighbors. Of course, spending time with family is my absolute favorite pastime.
Did you develop your psychic abilities in an interesting way?
I have always had a strange connection with electronics, such as TV and radio. When I was young I could predict adverts, films, or songs on the radio before they came on, and this developed to the point that I would be talking about something and it would be repeated on the screen or on the radio. This was when I realized that Spirit was trying to connect to me, especially lost loved ones and other messages from the spirit world.
My abilities still have an interesting relationship with technology, especially when it comes to music. I receive messages from Spirit through songs quite often, sometimes for someone else, but just as often, it’s a personal message. The best way to describe it is that a specific line from a song may resonate so strongly with me that I just know it’s a message rather than merely a well-written lyric. Another way Spirit gets my attention through music is to play the same song constantly till I do get the message. I’m rather convinced that all of my spirit guides are musicians honestly.
Do you have any interesting stories you think readers would like to learn about you?
Yes! I met the Pope when I was in Rome, Italy, and it was a deeply moving and spiritual moment. I am open to all religious beliefs, but there was something that moved me emotionally when I met him.
It happened in the strangest way as well. My sandal had come undone and I bent down to fix it just before he passed me, and he came over because he thought I was bowing to him. It was an easy mistake to make since everyone else in the crowd was standing up.
Did you have a completely different career path in your past?
I worked with young offenders for a while, which helped me look at life with more of a compassionate view and led me to work with animals or those who needed help. I think some of my work was part of me learning to connect to people and to understand them.
Have you helped a client in a memorable way?
A war veteran suffering from PTSD came to me for help and guidance and I quickly discovered he had an affinity for animals (we call it the Equus Effect). I got in touch with a local sanctuary for donkeys and aging horses and he now is a full part of the team where he works with helping them. He’s especially good with the ones that have experienced their own traumas in previous homes. He has never been more focused or happier in his tasks and I am extremely proud of him and glad I was able to help.
