Understanding Your Daily Focus
My birthday is this week, so naturally it’s time to talk about my natal sun sign, Capricorn. Capricorns are known for being stoic, steadfast, hardworking, and loyal. This sign is ruled by Saturn, the planet of work, time, restrictions, and death. Capricorn season comes at the darkest time of the year, the beginning of true winter. It’s easy to see why Capricorns have a reputation for being dark, secretive, and reserved. Like winter herself, the Capricorn hoards vital resources to make it through darker times. This often translates to withholding emotions, but do not be deceived. Just because the sturdy goat doesn’t give everything freely or all at once does not mean that they don’t feel it.
Restrictive Saturn always has his thumb on Capricorn, reminding them to wait, look around, and act carefully. It is not that Capricorns are not deep feelers, but rather that they are adept at controlling and restricting these feelings, giving them a sense of control over their behavior and reactions. When this is, inevitably at times, impossible, the loss of control for a Capricorn can feel doubly devastating. Vulnerability is not a language that seagoats speak.
As we enter Capricorn season, all signs will feel the pull of Saturn’s dark energy, albeit in different ways. Anger and jealousy are going to crop up among every sign, because we are all human. If you’re feeling insecure, or like you’re falling behind your peers, try to let that go. It’s good to use competition as motivation, but only insomuch as it helps you grow and be better. Trust me, someone else is looking at you, and where you are, and wishing they were there themselves.
