Controversial director Roman Polanski’s thriller The Ghost Writer hits theaters this weekend. In it, Ewan McGregor is a ghostwriter (known as “the ghost”) hired to complete the memoirs of a former British prime minister, played by Pierce Brosnan. It’s the job of a lifetime, but what the ghost uncovers puts his own life in jeopardy. Also starring Kim Cattrall (of Sex & The City fame), The Ghost Writer is set in the middle of winter, in and around an oceanfront estate on an island off the coast of the United States, and it promises a terrifying and tense ride.

Ewan McGregor
