Not only do names mean different things in different languages, they are also associated with numbers, which have significant meanings as well.

Numerology, Naming, and Numbers

Numerology is the study of numbers, based on the belief that a relationship exists between numbers and everything in the Universe, and the numbers in a person’s name plays a powerful role in their destiny.

Most modern numerology charts are based on the Pythagorean system. Pythagoras, an ancient Greek philosopher, believed that everything could be explained in terms of numbers, and that the numbers associated with certain letters could be interpreted as having meaning, including astrological meaning. He gave a numeric value to each letter in cycles of 9.

The three numbers associated with a name are the Destiny Number, the Personality Number, and the Soul Urge Number.

• The Destiny Number is calculated from the letters in your full name (first, middle, and last)
• The Personality Number is calculated only from the consonants in your name
• The Soul Urge Number is calculated from the vowels in your name

Numerology Solutions and Their Meanings

Here’s an example of the Destiny Number, which is used in our video. Let’s take the name of Harry James Potter from the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling.

When you add up the numbers for each of his names, “Harry” is 34, “James” is 12, and “Potter” is 31. This brings the total to 77. Since the number 77 is not a master number, you would break it down like so: 7 + 7 = 14, and then break this down to: 1 + 4 = 5. Harry is adventurous, fun, and loves freedom. He gets along with all kinds of people and adores traveling far and wide. He is courageous and tends to ultimately succeed at whatever he tries to do.

Here are the traits associated with each number:

There are only three double digit numbers that you do not break down into their smallest forms if they appear as your Destiny Number: 11, 22, and 33. They are known as the Master Numbers, and they not only emulate some of the traits of single digit number they could be (2=11, 4=22, etc.) but they amplify those traits as well.
