On this day in 2006, Pluto was demoted to “dwarf planet” status for not
fitting the new planet criteria set up by the International Astronomic
Union. Most astrologers, however, maintained Pluto’s place – and
categorization – since its effect on Neptune (which led to its
discovery in the first place) is still great enough to prove its pull
in the cosmos. So if you’re a Scorpio still worried you’ve lost your
ruler, fear not! In the end, while Pluto may be the tiniest planet yet
discovered, it remains the most mysterious… and misunderstood!
