Is there really a day dedicated to the use of marijuana? Well, unofficially, yes!
Just a little fact for you: 4/20 was started in 1971 by a group of high school students at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California (located in the North Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area for those of you who don’t know). It all started when the group of teenagers (also known as the ‘Waldos’) agreed to meet after school at 4:20pm at the Louis Pasteur Statue to engage in smoking cannabis together. They used the code “4/20” as a term meaning, ‘time to get high’ and proceeded to spread their secret language throughout their peers.
Who would have thought it would turn into a day recognized by people all through North America (especially) and others around the world, as a day to kick back and appreciate Mother Nature’s gift to mankind? Well, in any case … Happy 4/20 to those who celebrate!
