Are You Going Down the Wrong Path?
There’s no doubt about it—dating can be tough. Navigating the ins and outs of the singles scene is daunting for many people and trying to find that proverbial “one” is no easy task.

Because so much is riding on trying to find the right person, it’s easy to fall into false thinking when you’re dating. You might even start believing things that are completely detrimental to actually landing a true partner. In order to keep you on the road toward love and happiness, here are six signs you’re going down the wrong path. Are you ready for a dating reality check?
1. You Judge Every Book by its Cover
Especially if you’re doing the online dating thing, it’s easy to look at a photo of someone and totally dismiss the person based on his or her appearance. While, yes, attraction is super important when it comes to finding a partner, sometimes that attraction can bloom when you get to know who someone is on the inside. Rather than commit to only going out with people you find super hot from the get-go, be open to those who might just surprise you with their inner beauty.
2. You Expect to Fall in Love at First Sight
Just because you don’t feel sparks right away, that doesn’t mean someone isn’t worth pursuing. The whole “love at first sight” thing may sound romantic, but it’s not the norm. Don’t get stuck in the ideology that the right person will knock your socks off from the moment you lay eyes on him or her or you may miss out on someone great.
3. Your Standards are Impossible to Meet
While it’s important to know the type of person you ideally want to be with as far as what qualities this partner might possess, it’s just as crucial you aren’t creating a benchmark that’s so high no one could ever meet it. Having unrealistic expectations is a sure way to stay single indefinitely.
4. You Expect Them to Follow Outdated Rules
The only rule you should follow when it comes to dating is that there are no rules. If you get weirded out because someone you’re seeing calls you the day after your first date instead of following the three-day rule, then you’re for sure in need of a reality check. After all, those traditional rules are really just for game players. It’s better to follow your heart and act on your emotions.
5. You Believe There are No Good Ones Left
Sure, if you’ve dated some duds it’s easy to adopt a pessimistic attitude about dating. But you shouldn’t convince yourself that other people have already snatched up all the eligible singles. This way of thinking is unproductive and can even manifest a more-challenging romantic life. After all, there’s nothing attractive about a negative attitude.
6. You Think the Perfect Relationship Exists
Even if you find someone you think is great, you have to understand that being in a partnership comes with its own challenges. Just because you’re in a relationship, that doesn’t mean you’ll be happy 100% of the time and feel everlasting bliss. Don’t kid yourself—a good relationship take work! Dating has its difficulties, but so does being committed to a significant other. That’s just life.

Important article for those who are looking for love and in the dating scene.
I heard something the other day and thought I will remember this as it is so important when taking calls from single people. In reference to your first thought – 1. You Judge Every Book by its Cover –
what i heard someone say is “I fell in love with your pages not the cover”. Even the best kept books get dusty and frayed around the edges, yet the words on the pages are the substance and heart of the book.
The word dating means gathering data so figure out how many dates it takes to gather the information you wish to know about someone have some boundaries.
