After several readings with different psychics on when, how, and where I’ll meet my soulmate (if that even exists!), I’ve decided not to play the waiting game and live my life doing what makes me the most happy.
I love to travel, and rather than sitting and waiting for someone to take me on that romantic island destination, I figured I’d have just as much fun going solo.
A few years ago, I was in between jobs and as a “congratulations to me” move, I took myself to the all-inclusive Riviera Maya in Mexico (on the Caribbean side). Everyone was coupled-up on their honeymoons, and I was the only single person there.
I didn’t care – in fact, I loved it! I laid on the beach with a good book and drank margaritas in the sun. I walked around the little streets, window shopping and stopping in cafés to eat. I ate fancy meals at the resort. I went ATV riding on the beach, followed by jet-skiing in the ocean and swam with dolphins. I didn’t have to talk to anyone… it was the most wonderful, self-empowering vacation I’ve ever had. I even bought myself a beautiful right hand ring as a reminder that I can do anything, anytime. I tell people I got engaged to myself that summer.
There’s nothing like coming back from a trip well rested, tan, and with a little bling on your finger to make you feel alive. So if you’re stuck in relationship limbo … take a time out for you!
