Budget Fun
There are many ways to treat yourself, and if you’ve been feeling low, you may be looking for a pick-me-up. To find out what works, first sit back and think about what makes you happy and content. What makes you smile and what bring you joy? What do you enjoy doing? Happiness and contentment don’t have to cost a fortune, so put your credit cards back in your wallet; what I’m suggesting won’t cost you much, but it will make you feel a whole lot better. Here’s what I like to do when I treat myself on a budget:

1. Internet deals. We are lucky to live in the digital age where activities, goods and services can be had at a discounted rate. Many websites are dedicated to those of us on a budget, and they help us find local and Internet deals. You get to do a lot more with less money,, and suddenly your calendar is filled with fun and interesting things to do.
2. Discounted movie tickets. There are theaters that play movies that are still new, but have been out for a while. If you’re willing to wait, you can save a lot of money, or spend what you’ve saved on snacks.
3. Interest groups. Do you like to knit or make soap? Perhaps you prefer outdoor fitness? There are websites dedicated to building groups of like-minded people and joining them is free. You can get together and have a great time talking about or doing what you love. It’s a great way to make new friends.
4. Shop the sales. If you are on a budget, you may be lusting after something that is way out of your price range. Just wait until it goes on sale. Won’t you enjoy it more knowing you didn’t pay full price?
5. Off-season decorations. If decorating your house for the holidays brings you joy, why wait until the holidays to buy holiday decorations? They’re usually marked up because everyone wants them. Instead, shop after the holidays for those deep discounts or shop months in advance at online retailers. You’ll have a festive house for each and every holiday that’s decorated at a fraction of the cost.
6. Psychic readings. Even though I’m a psychic, I enjoy getting psychic readings from other California Psychics psychics. I have a few favorites I call when I can splurge and a few other favorites when money is a bit tight but I still need a reading. Besides helping me through life’s ups and downs, my psychics remind me of all that I have to be grateful for, and help me feel content about all that makes me happy. A psychic reading can be an affordable treat.
Find Free Treats
Remember, some of the nicest things in life are free. You could have a spa day at home with the products you’ve already paid for. You could also take a walk in the park to boost your mood and refresh yourself. Enjoying nature can be just as satisfying as spending loads of money.
Share the Treats
Some treats are meant to be shared and experienced. If you can treat both you and a friend, do it and make them feel happy too. Or if you want to treat yourself with an activity or experience that is a bit out of your price range, split the cost with a friend so you can treat yourself together.
No matter what you’re going through, take the time to treat yourself. Whatever your budget allows, even if you don’t have a penny to spend, do what you can to make yourself feel happy. You deserve it!
