What does a typical day off look like for you?
When I wake up, I start the day with either meditation or with a Reiki session. I do this so that I can have a clear energy field before I connect with anyone else. I start most of my day’s this way, but on my days off, I usually take a bit more time. Especially after a great week at work. (I do love the work I do here at California Psychics.)
How do you clear your mind after being on the line all day?
My days off start at the end of the last day of the week I work. I turn off all notifications, including email (sorry Boss), and all social media. I generally do not even watch anything on TV that day. I do listen to music most of the day though.
Did you have a completely different career path in your past?
I have been a Radio DJ (I have a degree in TV/Radio Broadcasting) and an over-the-road truck driver. Thanks to that job, I have been to all 48 states in the contiguous United States. It certainly gave me the travel bug and has made travel an essential part of my sacred self-care.
Tell us an interesting story you think readers would like to learn about you.
I had a job in my early twenties working in a bar, where I got to meet several bands, including Head East, Brownsville Station, and Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas. Of all of them, Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas were the coolest, most down-to-earth people.
What are fun things that you like to do in your free time?
As I said, travel is part of my sacred self-care, but my husband and I also just love to explore. On my last day off, my husband, Mark, and I went on a 400-mile round trip. On one of our stops, I went to some shops where I was able to pick up some new cards to do readings with, some incense, a new pendulum, and a Merkabah crystal. I love having lit incense in my office on the days that I do work. The smell of the incense allows me to connect with spirit on a different level. It was a wonderful place to find while on an adventure!
On non-travel or shopping days, we see family and friends. With this pandemic, it generally means standing outside houses in the yard to talk. I am a big hugger, so this has been a real struggle for me. My family and I have taken to doing the bump, we do not do elbows; we do the bump (like the old 70-80’s dance.) My mom’s neighbors all laugh and ask if we are doing a silent disco.
After visiting with family or shopping, my husband and I wind down at home. Once we are tucked away inside, we do something that makes us laugh and keeps us having fun together. I will usually turn on some music for us to listen to while we play video games, a love we’ve shared for a long time.
