Sometimes these risks can be justified, and other times not. There is a parallel with Odysseus with the reversed Ten of Pentacles. His troubles arose because of a streak of recklessness that made him do wild things at just the wrong moment. The urge to gamble stood in opposition to his basic qualities of caution, skill, and foresight. And yet, without it, he would not have seen the world.

Saturday

Day (The Devil XV): Today you may feel as if you’re the slave of your desires, rather than acting the way you think is best. It can also be a day when you feel possessed by a controlling obsession. There can be feelings of helplessness and shame as a result of giving in to these desires. We observe a look of calm on the faces of the chained men and women on this card. This indicates the acceptance of a bad situation. Eventually, we come to view our unhappy conditions as normal, and may even fight against change.
