Famous “Society Palmist,” Cheiro, was born on this day in 1866. Also known as Count Louis Hamon, Cheiro was the celebrity astrologer and palm reader of his day – reading for the likes of Mark Twain, Sarah Bernhardt and Oscar Wilde to name a few. Uranus placements in his chart explain his love for the occult – a Sun trine Uranus and Uranus squaring Neptune made him particularly drawn to the bizarre and unusual. Mark Twain said of him, “Cheiro has exposed my character to me with humiliating accuracy. I ought not to confess this accuracy, still I am moved to do so.”
